William Morris, the poet, among other things, acquired a house in the Cotswolds, around 1871. Kelmscott Manor. The wonderful building was down the road from the guest house where I was staying last September....five days of unbroken sunshine.... The Thames was a further few minutes from the Manor. Not surrounded by buildings and concrete as in London, but this part by trees, grass, farms, birds, flowers, and so on. A walker's dream area.
