EB's playlist for March

And here we go again, another month, another music playlist for ya!
This month will be somewhat different.
Let me explain...
This past week or so, one of my biggest obsession came back. What is that? I hear you ask. Well it is quite simple my dears. I've got the bl00d of the kindred flowing in my veins. We're talking about the real princes of darkness, not wolves but vampires.
It's one thing I just can't stop dealing with...for...well uhm...obvious reasons but that's another story. You see, I don't drink wine.
But I'm starting to ramble here. Let's end this quickly shall we.
Here's a selection of some of my favorite songs that I associate with my kind. Eh?

So let us begin. Follow me and listen to these particular songs. And this will be a double header this time, 20 songs for ya!

01- Gerard McMann - Cry Little S1st3r
Have you seen the movie The Lost Boys? It is far from perfect. It's very cliché and it's overwhelmingly 80s. But it makes it ever better just for that. And Jami Gertz here, she makes me quite thirsty.

02- Roky Erickson - Night Of The Vampire
Ah yes! This one is a pure classic. Roky is a very interesting singer and songwriter. He does tend to write about paranormal and I love it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqRdqw0VDXw

03- The Doors - Waiting For The Sun
People mostly don't understand. The Sun is a myth, vampires do hate it but it doesn't kill. Just read Dracula again will you? The count does roam around during the day.

04- Annie Lennox - Love Song For A Vampire
Speaking of Vlad Tepes. Coppola's version of Dracula will always be my favorite. He's the only one who got the romantic/gothic part right. This song was featured in the credits and should have been nominated for the Academy Awards.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhG8zC4npsE

05- Blue Öyster Cult - Nosferatu
One of the earliest vampires on the big screen. Such a delightful and beautiful movie, it's still one of the greatest even by today's standards.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-2SC-smBW0

06- Echo & The Bunny Men - The K1lling Moon
Under a blue moon, it must be fate.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWz0JC7afNQ

07- Siouxsie & The Banshees - We Hunger
The thirst...it either call you or kill you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_CaPzwEKvg

08- The S1st3rs Of Mercy - Lucretia My Reflection
A lot has been said about Lucrezia Borgia. Her mouth was rather large, her teeth brilliantly white, her neck was slender and fair, and the bust was admirably proportioned. She always appeared to walk on air.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg9buWTwCcI

09- Smashing Pumpkins - We Only Come Out At Night
The Sun doesn't kill but the days are still much too bright.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGJOMdpKX9A

10- Type O Negative - Suspended In Dusk
Deep, dark, gloomy, doom...this is what awaits you here. Always. Forever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpdSm6-0ayo

11- Danzig - Until You Call On The Dark
Embrace it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3Yb7fBnVwc

12- Slayer - Bl00dline
bloodline...kindred...same shit...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfKUWvVCwvE

13- K's Choice - Virgin State Of Mind
Wasn't this one featured on an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer? Or was it another song by the same band? I don't remember.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kNzDk2CPHI

14- Marilyn Manson - Four Rusted Horses
Well isn't this obvious?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOlGNeVZrRU

15- Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
Think what you want, Lugosi will always be the most well known of the Draculas.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq7xyjU-jsU

16- The Birthday Party - Release The Bats
Nick Cave must be a vampire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J8Ygt_t69A

17- K.D. Lang - Constant Craving
It is a song about lesbian love...but isn't it the same thing? Isn't the thirst a constant craving?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXqPjx94YMg

18- The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?
I somewhat always picture this one as a vampire song, it isn't.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T1KSL1YMe4

19- Type O Negative - Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare All)
Yes, them again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYDfBOfDT4c

20- The 69 Eyes - We Own The Night
A wonderful and truthful statement.

Love this one, ellenblake. For me that line in How Soon Is Now just kills me.
"I am the sun and the air . . ." Wow. Nice hippy lyric - so cool against Johnny's guitaring.

But NO!

"I am the son and the heir . . . of a shyness that is criminally vulgar."

Superb.
