EB - November's music playlist

Dammit!
It's almost December and I haven't made a list of songs for the month of November. Well uhm you know me, I'm always late! I guess that my thing now eh?
Anyway, let's just get on with it and here's a list of songs for the end of November. And these are definitely songs I've been listening to through most of this month.
Here we go!!

01- Better Midler - Shiver Me Timbers
I don't know if you know that but I'm a big big biiiiiig fan of Tom Waits. I seriously think he's one of the most talented lyricist and musician ever. He was a great jazz/bluesman (a crossover between Howlin' Wolf and Sinatra) and then he became something more during the eighties, he pretty much created his own style of music.
Here it's one of his early songs, from his second album. Bette is one of his friends and she has an amazingly beautiful voice. It's a great version of an already perfect song.

02- Leonard Cohen - The Future
So last in November we lost yet another icon. I never was a big Cohen fan, I mean he has great songs but that's pretty much all to me. But he was one talented fucker!
This song was in one of my favorite movies of all time, go and watch Natural Born Killers if you haven't already. It's fuckin' great!

03- Metallica - Murder One
Oh yeah Metallica released a new album to...mixed reviews? Seriously guys?! It's a fuckin' great album. Of course, I know why. It sounds too much like a third album in the Load "saga". People are really really annoying with Load, it's great but people don't like change. I'd even say, people don't like it when a band tries to have their own sound and style. And I feel like that's the same kind of people who hate on bands like AC/DC because they do the same thing over and over again.
WHAT THE FUCK PEOPLE!?
And this music video is a great tribute to God, the late Lemmy Kilmister.

04- Dodie Clarke - Can't Help Falling In Love
Ever heard of Dodie? She's awesome! I'm totally in love with her voice...well...also with just her because she's cool and very relatable.
Anyway, you probably all know this song. Did you know it was a French song first though? The lyrics are different but it's the same feeling.

05- The Who - You Better You Bet
There's this era of the Who that nobody talks about. THE EIGHTIES!!!
And you know what? It's criminally underrated. They have some great songs even there. But because Keith Moon wasn't around at that time, may he rest in peace, most fans just left and they shouldn't have.

06- Blues Saraceno - Bad Man
Sometimes I just need some pure Rock in my ears!

07- Ronnie Spector - She Talks To Rainbow
So how many of you know about Ronettes? Probably all!
How many know about the Ramones? Most of you I guess.
So what happens when Joey Ramones writes a song for Ronnie Spector? This great song here!

08- Regina Spektor - While My Guitar Gently Wheeps
No relation to the previous Spector, it's not even the same spelling.
This cover of the Beatles' classic hit was the movie Kubo which I haven't seen yet and I'm very ashamed.
Anyway, Regina is great no matter what she does.

09- sisters Of Mercy - This Corrosion
There are bands like these I just can't stop listening to, they're just awesome!

10- Sonny Rhodes - The Ballad Of Serenity
And for our last song of this list, here's something different.
As I was writing this, I learned about the passing of Ron Glass. He was a very talented actor and most of all, he was one of the best character in Firefly. Firefly is easily my third favorite TV show ever, too bad it only lasted for one season. But it gained a cult-following and it's now one of the most reverend series ever. The mix of Western and Science Fiction wasn't new but it wasn't something you see everyday on TV. I would almost say it was better than Joss Whedon's previous work, Buffy The Vampire Slayer...but I can't say that because it was way too short lived.
This is song here, was the main theme used in the opening of the show. It's a nice little Country Western song written by Joss Whedon himself.
2016 really is a bitch!

May you rest in peace Ron Glass

to ellenblake : If anybody has any doubts about how good the songs on the albums are, they need to listen to Who's Last. The Who are, & will always be rock legends. The drums just sound different. Townsend, Entwhistle & Daltrey all sound classic & amazing!!

Totally agree with you about The Who. Face Dances & It's hard were both great albums. Kenny Jones did a great job.

Well the Ramones had to go for something closer to their own style. But I always thought they already had Phil Spector style to their music, even if they were Punks!

Evil Ways was a great entrance theme no matter for who it was. And well, it was for AJ Styles, one of the best ever.

Murder One is a great song, one of the best on Metallica's new album. But that music video is great, Lemmy is the man!

You should listen to the Ramones version of that song it's great too. Well at least if you enjoy Joey's voice, but the Ronnie version is the way to go since it was written for her.

Saracevo did the entrance theme of AJ Styles' last run in TNA. It was fuckin' good!
