Songs of July! YAY!
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Guess what? July is almost over so I think it's time for another Top 5 songs, actually it's going to be a Top 8 songs this time and this time only...well maybe not we'll see.
Let's not waste your time and here's my Top 8 songs for the month of July, once again there's no real order to this.
1- Hands Off Gretel - One Eyed Girl
I've been talking about Lauren Tate for quite a few months now. Well my opinion hasn't changed, Lauren Tate is fuckin' gorgeous and I love her band!

2- Blues Pills - Lady In Gold
Definitely one of the most interesting bands in a while. This late 60s Rock style is great and I'm lovin' it!

3- Taco - Puttin' On The Ritz
Okay soooo...for this one...uhmmm...yeah don't even ask. I just can't stop going back to this.

4- The 69 Eyes - Dolce Vita
I recently discovered this band and it's quite fun. It's a bit like if Andrew Eldritch (from Si.sters Of Mercy) replaced Billy Idol in his band.

5- Ultravox - Dancing With Tear In My Eyes
Yeah I got this one stuck into my head for ages now!

6- Lana Del Rey - Shades Of Cool
Lana has some great style, it's neither modern nor old. She has something different.

7- Powerman 5000 - How To Be Human
Rob Zombie's lil'b*o' is like the Billy Idol of Metal I guess.

8- Queen - I Want To Break Free (Live in Brussels)
This one is both hilarious and painful. Sometimes it happens...but this clearly is one of the worst performance from Freddie Mercury, his voice is dead!

Outside is pretty much a Nine Inch Nails album, I mean it sounds like Trent Reznor was around. Same goes for the previous and next album (Black Tie White Noise and Earthling). All three albums are very very different from each others, very complex and experimental to use your own words. I definitely recommend another listening.
Cannot wait for this new season!!!
Well according to Rob himself, his parents were pretty fucked up. Just a bunch of hippies.
Billy's last album wasn't his best but it was good enough for such a damn long wait.
I still think Cyberpunk is his best one, it's soooooo underrated. It's a bit like Bowie's Outside album, but Billy made it 3 or 4 years before David.
I do agree with you on these two songs. My favorite definitely is One Breath Away, because it reminds me a lot of Cyberpunk mixed with some Chinese Democracy.
Blues Pills first album is fuckin' great. It was such a surprise to hear something like that today.
I absolutely love Queen, I grew up with that band. But seriously, Freddie isn't great through the whole song here.
Eh...nobody's perfect...even Freddie can fuck up sometimes.
Anyway I don't think it's their worst song, they did worse than that. Like anything from the Flash Gordon soundtrack or Rock It (on The Game). Hell! I even think Now I'm Here is worse than I Want To Break Free.
Been reading good things about Blues Pills. This was okay for a song in search of a chorus - best thing about it was the bassplayer's Rickenbacker though. Hot singer, looking like a less-curvy Sovy Syre.
I don't really get the Queen criticisms. FM fucks up early on and doesn't really attempt the high notes after that, singing around the tune as he always did (check out the Christmas '75 Live at Hammersmith show - he was doing it even back then). It's still one of their worst songs and always will be. Thankfully numbers like Innuendo were still ahead.
Prediction - Lauren Tate will be massive, as long as she dumps the band. Ugh.
My mum will FREAK for 69 Eyes. Sounds like the kind of thing I grew up hearing around the house!
It's funny eh? You wouldn't think Rob had a younger brother.
Billy's great! His last album was easily my favorite of last year.
As for Powerman...I actually prefer Billy Idol but they both have great songs though.
