Alexandra's Story - One Year Later

September 7, 2013 represents the first year anniversary of Alexandra's passing. (Please see my blog post "Alexandra's Story" if you are not familiar.)

I am enclosing three pictures of Alex, kindly provided by her father Roger to us xHamster members who knew and loved his daughter. The first pic shows her at age 18, perhaps likely a graduation photo. In the second pic she is 21, and the third one shows her at age 34 with her dad on a cruise together. It was taken only months before her untimely death. I wanted to share these photos with her friends and admirers, as well as with those xHamster members who did not have an opportunity to know her personally.

I think all three of the pictures clearly show her drive and determination, her spirit and stubbornness, her unapologetic drive and zest for life. Don't get me wrong: she was no saint, suffering in silence: she was angry! She didn't take kindly to accepting her fate and her lot in life. She was in constant pain. She endured countless surgeries throughout her life, as her body grew and changed. But her response was one of resolve and endurance. Despite her personal suffering, she vowed to make the best of her condition, and that she did.

Along the way, she managed to take the time to befriend those who she deemed worthy, to share her experiences and her wisdom with all who would ask. She brought such a strong aura to every PM, every chat, every story that she wrote. She was a complete revelation, a total free spirit, and such an inspiration, that anyone who came into contact with her couldn't help but be impressed with her openness, her honesty, and her can-do attitude.

I can tell you that our relationship wasn't all smiles and roses. We had some spirited disagreements along the way. She was headstrong and adamant at times, but she was also very sweet and loving. We always worked out our differences, and we forged a mutual respect and a mutual love for each other in a very short period of time. Not love in a romantic sense, but in the sharing of such a pure, soul-searing understanding of love in its most refined sense.

I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend many xHamster people who are profoundly proud and deeply affected by their contact with Alexandra. I am determined to keep her Love and Light alive and shining brightly. She continues to be an inspiration to a lot of people, those who knew her and those who didn't. Alexandra believed in Angels. Now she is one.

I tried to contact Alex's father via email, in hopes that I would receive his permission to post the 3 pics of Alexandra, and I was anxious to hear news of his latest ventures with his post-retirement traveling, and with his blossoming relationship with his friend Susan. Unfortunately, I was not successful.

I last exchanged messages with him in May. I had three different email addresses for him, but, sad to say he has since deleted all three. I didn't expect that. In the past, whenever I wrote and asked about his doings, he would immediately respond and bring me up to date. Such was the beauty of the man who cared for his daughter intimately and totally for all of her 34 years. I kind of figured we'd be in touch off and on for the rest of our lives. So, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not disappointed. I'm sure he had his reasons…maybe he has moved on, and he is in a better place. He did tell me that all his sad feelings have been replaced with good memories of his remarkable daughter, so that is good to know. I wish him well.

Before Roger closed Alex's xHamster account (upon her request) I managed to save some of her stories to my computer. If anyone is interested in reading them, please PM me with an email address, and I will send them to you.
