Job description.

I`ve traveled all over the world
To places that most people dream of
I`ve made me some friends on the way
I guess I`ve even known love
I`ve spend Christmas time on a a beach
In a place that aint far from the moon
And I`ve watched the snow falling down
On a hill in the middle of June....

The song keeps filling my head every time I have to leave my home and go on a job. Because I AM more lucky than most people. I get to travel a lot, see places most people have on their bucket list but probably never get to see. Experience foreign countries, foreign, and different, cultures and people, some small, some tall, some rich, some poor. But it strikes me every time I go out, how accommodating, polite, warm and welcoming everybody is. Does not matter if they dont know where to get food for the next day, or maybe even the next meal...they share. They welcome you anyway, open their homes and invites you in. They dont care about the colour of your skin, they dont care about your religion or what car you drive. They greet you, welcomes you to their country, their city, their house or shag, they share what they have with complete strangers, just to make them feel welcome. And my job is, sometimes, to capture these moments, these great humans who have nothing, and gives away everything they own to a complete stranger. And seeing this kind of hospitality, makes me wonder why we are so busy building walls that separate us from our neighbors, separate families and create enemies. Why dont we help each other instead, so we all can harvest the wealth and abundance the planet still offers to us, despite the way we are treating it. Why dont we, just once in a while, sit down on the bench on the town square and talk to the stranger there..? So what if he or she is dirty, have not been washed this morning or is having a beer...imagine what stories of life we miss not doing that, not talking to a stranger. Maybe, just maybe, that little "hello" can make a world of difference to the person you say it to...and maybe, just maybe, your day will be a little bit better, knowing that you made an impact on somebodies life. Through my photos, I hope that I, in my small way, can contribute to make some people open their eyes for all the forgotten stories there is around the world, sit down and say hello to the stranger on the bench, clean up the trash we so arrogantly just throw away, or help the millions of wildlife all over the world, that are abused and tortured every day, just for our amusement. Imagine what will happen if we all shake hands with a stranger...if we all sit down...if we all care.
