PROSTITUTION IN JAPAN

There are 300,000 prostitutes in Japan at any one time. One in 20 Japanese women has worked as a prostitute at some time in their lives.
Females from college age students to 50 year old mothers have worked as prostitutes.
The reason they work as prostitutes range from high school students who want more money to buy branded hand-bags, clothing, etc., college students who need money to pay college fees, women who have debts or who need capital to open a shop or small business.
The reasons girls and women work as prostitutes is because it is very lucrative. They can earn US$300 per hour compared with convenience store clerks who earn US$10 per hour. And for a prostitute, only about half an hour is spent having sex, the rest on chatting, etc.
Most of the women who had worked a prostitutes do not tell their future boyfriends or husbands. They consider that part of their life as episode to be forgotten.
Why do Japanese men go to brothels ? Some do so because of sexless marriages, eg. their wives are not keen on having sex or don't want it so often. Others go because the brothels offer younger and prettier girls. Also, many brothels offer to satisfy their fantasies. For example they provide make belief train coaches with prostitutes dressed like office girls and allow them to fondle their breasts and touch their private parts. This eventually lead to having sex on the make believe train coaches. They also provide young looking prostitutes dressed as school girls and even women who are obviously pregnant.
Young Japanese men go to brothels because they find having a regular girl friend time consuming. Some cheaper brothels offer sex for just US100 for a short time.
Most Japanese women do not mind if they find out that their husbands or boyfriends have visited brothels.

to airliner1 : Prostitutes are easily available to tourists. Usually when room service spots a male checking in to a room, they will without fail ask the guest whether he wants a "xiao jie" (a polite term for a call girl). After negotiating the price, a girl will be sent to the guest's room. i don't know the current price but usually the girl will stay in the room with the client until morning. Sometimes, a group of men will request for a performance. The girl who provide such services will do things like inserting a banana into her pussy, squash it and push out the squashed banana. Or an egg may be inserted and crushed and the contents oozed out. Some can even use their pussies to smoke a cigarette, inhaling and exhaling the cigarette smoke. Japanese culture has in the past expected women to be subservient to men. The men are solely responsible for providing money for the family. The women stays at home doing domestic chores which they accept as their role in society. But things are gradually changing. More and more young women go to schools and colleges and earn their own money so that they can be financially independent. While Japanese used to accept and put up with sexual harrassment at work places and in public, things are changing in modern times. Some men take advantage of crowded public trains to touch private parts of females and make it appear accidental. But more and more Japanese girls are accusing the culprits of molest. I myself had a few experiences where men bump into my breasts and make it appear accidental.

Interesting that 1 in 20 Japanese women worked in Japan at one time. It would be interesting to find out how Japanese men felt about the fact that their wives or girl friends had once been a prostitute? Or Japanese men knew it but chose to ignore it since they themselves go to brothels? Perhaps this infidelity of Japanese men and women has caused many unwanted issues in the present Japanese society? Yet my impression of the Japanese men and women worked very hard till they drop dead sometimes; or extremely tired day in and day out, making the Japanese society well ordered, organized, and precised to the Nth degree. It is a wonder and interesting.

n many Japanese cities, middle aged men make use of dating services with school girls in their teens. These men say they get tired of regular bars where they often meet women in their 30s or 40s. to 11865ak : Firstly, thanks for your compliments. I acquired a decent command of English after studying for a degree in Sociology in California, USA. The sexual attitude of Japanese society were heavily influenced by Confucian ideals widespread in China and Japan in the past. Men were heads of households and women's role was to produce heirs and take care of the children and home. In Japan in particular, women were expected to be submissive to men and this is reflected in Japanese porn. Even in public this thinking pervaded. Women in crowded trains put up with being touched on their breasts, buttocks and pubic areas. But from the 1990s onwards more women reported these men for molesting and such offensese are rare now. Nevertheless, this submissive role of women is predominant in Japanese porn and this accounts for their popularity.

It is of course one of the mysteries of history as to how such a highly mannered demure culture could at home accept the sexual exploitation of women for centuries, more easily than in the West, as well brutalize Asians in their so-called Asian Co-prosperity Sphere. There are some who do so for money if their husbands do not give them enough. Some just want to relive younger days by having sex with younger men. These men are available at certain social escort agencies.

I always wonder if the Japanese wives, particularly mature ladies, volunteer for so-called amateur adult features because their husbands expend their passion at brothels. Valerie's comments about Viet War era Americans going on R&R as sex tourists are fair. In some places the ladies lined up just outside the US airbase when the silver birds came in from Vietnam. I heard this directly from a brother officer who went to Hong Kong. ( He had a nice time. Brought me a box of CUBAN H Upmann cigars in tubes.) This was clearly not the case in Japan. I chose to go to Japan as a genuine tourist. I had an interesting, celibate time. I doubt if I could have found a brothel in Tokyo or been welcome in one if I could. So long ago. Some GIs had a rather ugly reason for waiting to take R&R in Australia -- it was a long waiting list. They said they wanted to see 'round eyes.' Not nice.

The Japanese introduced "bubble baths" in which the girl will massage the man with their breasts with special attention to the men's private parts. The Taiwanese govt. has always been liberal with prostitution. There are many bars were the waitresses can be brought back to the guests' hotel rooms for sex. In hot spring districts like Peitou, spas and saunas are available like in Japan. Most male tourists can have a prostitute visit him in his room for sex, either short time or overnight. During the Vietnam War, many American soldiers go to either Bangkok or Taiwan for R and R (rest and recreation), as Japan is too expensive.
