I Hate #21 - B.S. Posthumous Praise
Have you ever noticed that after someone passes away, people always talk about them like they were the most awesome person to ever walk the Earth? You hear the same stuff all the time... "He was kind to everyone", "He always had a smile on his face", "He would help anyone in need", etc. etc. It makes me roll my eyes every time.
It annoys me because these are all cliches, and because people don't share praise like that with people when they are still alive to appreciate it. Yeah, when someone isn't there anymore you try to think of the good things but really, people lay it on pretty thick and often just say it to be polite.
I'd prefer if people just said "I'll miss them a lot" or something like that instead of making them sound like a saint of the first order. You don't have to rage about them being dickheads either... just be polite but keep it real.
