Will AVN FINALLY Give Adriana Chechik THE Prize?

ADRIANA CHECHIK has again been nominated by AVN for Female Performer of the Year, an award she should have gotten hands down the last two years straight, but which those clueless idiots at AVN denied her (for whatever inexplicable reason. Too nasty?).

Adriana is without doubt the most impactful female performer in porn the last few years and it is an absolute [/i]outrage[/i] that she hasn't won AVN's most coveted Female Performer of the Year prize yet. Or AVN rival X-Biz's who saw fit a year or two ago to give it to the great ......... Dani Daniels. SAY WHAT?!?

I don't have much optimism that AVN will get it right Jan. 21 in Las Vegas, but one can always hope.

Anyway, here's the rest of the nominees for Female Performer of the Year:

to jackoffxxx : After Adriana didn't win the last couple years, I was quite suspect of them myself. As you say, its all a moot point now. She blows Katrina out of the water no doubt. to sexistpigpornadict : She did it at last! And not before time. When Adriana didn't win last year I thought she never would. I am not quite sure what the judges saw in 2016 that they didn't see the previous two years - but who cares now. She is streets ahead of the opposition and frankly puts the XBiz winner Katrina Jade well and truly in the shade. There is simply no comparison.

Delighted too about Holly Hendrix picking up best new starlet. I think she will be aiming for the main crown this year and will up her game even further. Whilst hopefully it will spur Adriana on too. Hopefully Adriana's desire to do the double and Holly's to take the crown will give us all some great wank material throughout 2017. Can't wait.

to filthywanker : The only award I'm really interested in is FPOY (female performer of the year). So I didn't look at the other XBiz winners. But the list (above) of XBiz nominees for FPOY is very solid. Adriana has been a fave of hardcore fans for about two or three years now, but that hasn't translated into her being crowned FPOY.
So I'll go out on a limb and say she won't win tonight either. But I hope I'm wrong.

to Carmen_Luvana_Fan : Megan and a few of the others could win too; but Adriana is clearly THE most deserving, but she will get fucked over once again by my former clueless colleagues at AVN; it culd be something personal - like perhaps she personally insulted the publisher or editor in chief in some manner - or they view her as a "bad" person, i.e., a druggie or something. That's how things worked when I was there a decade ago. In the final analysis, the awards are a popularity contest and little more. I don't really give a shit who wins and don't place much importance on it. I just feel bad for Adriana, clearly the greatest performer of her generation. It's like inducting the Monkees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame instead of the Beatles.

I agree 100%......look at the name of the award....PERFORMER of the year. Lover her or hate her (not sure who does) but you cannot deny what an amazing PERFORMER she is. In an era where Dps and double anal or standard operating procedure, Chechik still manages to stand out. Actually now I cum to think of it, the AVN site invites you to vote for your top five stars (rather than one) which suggests there is then another process followed to pick the actual winner. This is presumably where the AVN reviewers get involved (and where it seems to go wrong). As you suggest Sexist, the list is made up of some fine talent - Aidra, Keisha, AJ, Megan (all have taken my load this year on several occasions) but none of these cum close to the intensity and sheer energy of Adriana. Fingers crossed that this year justice will be done.

to jackoffxxx : During my years at AVN (ending roughly 10 years ago), the winners were determined strictly by the votes of the reviewers - those on staff and a small army of freelancers.

AVN has been under new ownership for the last several years, so that may not be the process any longer. Maybe the votes of the fans are factored in in some small percentage? I really don't know, but I will look into it.

I will tell you that during my AVN years, extreme nastiness could work AGAINST a performer up for an award. Many of the AVN staff, believe it or not, tended to be conservative in their tastes and frowned on more edgy material. Many, but not all. Certainly not me, of course.

And that's a factor in why Audrey Hollander won Female Performer of the Year circa 2005, 2006. Female Performer of the Year Jackoff, not Best New Starlet. (I know that for a fact because Audrey, as we've discussed privately, opened up her gaping asshole for my stiff cock on two occasions to show her appreciation for whatever role I had in her winning:)).

Alas, I fear that we are going to be having this same conversation again next year. Adriana’s performances over the last two years have been second to none – off the scale hot, pushing the boundaries and showing total commitment to her art. Yet she didn’t win.
Whatever about Anikka’s victory two years ago (many of us disagreed with the decision at the time but are willing to hold our hands up and admit that she has really stepped-up since then - with much harder, nastier scenes worthy of our hard-core addicted loads). However, Riley’s selection was a complete joke. Eye candy yes - but frankly a pretty tame performer in most scenes. But the reality is that Riley ticks the PR boxes for the AVN. An attractive, girl next door, pin-up performer.

I have a question for Sexist (who knows more about the inner-workings of the AVN than anyone on here). Are the winners chosen totally on the public vote? If so, perhaps that explains the likes of Riley winning. I would say she gets the vote of the casual porn user, the occasional fapper, the part-time porn fan. I am sure that if the vote was taken amongst totally committed, dedicated, addicts Riley wouldn’t cum close to winning. Instead we would see the likes of Adriana triumph.

I am not a conspiracy theorist but sometimes I do wonder if it suits AVN to have the likes of Riley picking up the prize – she’s less extreme, less likely to draw negative publicity etc. But I think I am right in saying that Audrey Hollander won best starlet once – so perhaps there is some hope for the wonderful, nasty, sleazy, cock stiffening, cum loading, whore that is Adriana Chechik.
