All my kinky, sexy fantasies finally revealed...

Haha...teasing is so much fun.

So, the two people who actually read these sometimes seem to think I never post anything positive.(well consider the environment....) But fret not for I finally have some possibly uplifting news...possibly. Or at least something that doesn't involve me attacking men...OH WATE-

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-79711/We-create-babies-men-claim-scientists.html

Excerpts for lazy people:

"Any babies born from the process would be female and genetically identical to their mother.

Taken to its extreme, it could lead to the science fiction nightmare of a female-dominated society where men have little or no role."

"But Dr Jacqueline Laing, expert in medical ethics from London's Guild Hall University, said last night: 'This is alarming. Just because scientists can do something, it does not mean that they should.

'This process does not respect human life, in seeking either to procreate without the male or to use human eggs to turn them into some other part of the body for transplants."

"'It doesn't respect reproduction and ordinary relations between men and women and the natural functions we have to protect human beings from arbitrary creation. What are we expecting that any c***dren born of this process will feel? If we go down this avenue, what else will be permissible?"

"'It is entirely unknown for this to happen in humans and this is a very disturbing discovery. Apart from the ethical concerns of what was happening to these embryos without their consent, it could mean that, theoretically, it would be possible to eradicate men."

Yeah, I'm totally bored. But still doesn't really phase me since I don't even like k**s, but anything that deems men less necessary is pretty viable in my book. It'll never happen though...must protect the patriarchy. Although I'm sure once men are able to clone mute women with brain damage and no teeth, then cloning will be admissible.

Good day!

to mathgenie : Broadly, your concern makes sense, but in practical application, I don't see this becoming any imminent threat to our species. The cultural and now scientific redundancy of the male won't yet affect the actual numbers of cis-het reproduction.

What it does do, and what I feel is coded into the overly cautious tone of the piece, is that lesbian couples could now reproduce without the need for any part of the male, and the patriarchy won't have that.

So parthenogenesis will so be an actual thing? Sweet.

to mathgenie : That's one of the cons they eluded to. With the limited genetics it would be more akin to cloning vs. actual offspring....But it's alternative. Or it could be...(which it won't)

The thing I would be worried about would be the reduction in the gene pool. If the genetic line in any animal species gets too restricted there can be some problems that develop. On the other hand, it would be useful if something like this could make it possible for lesbian couples to produce offspring with a combination of genetic material from each partner's egg.

to BlahBlahBlahBoston : Alas, there's plenty of other sources for that. Thanks for the comment.

I also came here hoping for the prospect of your fantasies unveiled. But the man-less all-female clone babies story was worth the trip!

Well of course! If this had any REAL chance of happening A. We never hear about it, and B. Men would never allow it to happen. Men can never have their position threatened.

to laurrren : Awww...lol! TBH my "fantasies" are boring and no one cares. Not to mention most of the people who read these things are dudes so it's the LAST place I'd divulge...

Yeah...too bad it won't even come to fruition...*sadface*. Thank you for the comment.

I'm really disappointed that you led us on and did not fill us in on your fantasies.

But... Interesting article. That's kind of amazing, tbh.
