The Manipulation Stream *Redux*

*Hopefully it's not deleted this time.*

So admittedly this is kinda old and I've never seen the film because LeBeauf, or LeBuff, or LaBuggerOff(I can't be bothered to look up the spelling) is a douchebag and I'm allergic to them but Ms. Wood states perfect what's been personally bugging me for quite some time.

See how all the little subliminal patriarchal bias sweeps through the airways? In every movie ever it's blowjob, blowjob, blowjob. Women go to fellatio classes to better please their men, they're "slutty" little secretaries who just happen to love the sheer feeling of a penis in her mouth, housewives who do it out of the blue and expect no reciprocation etc, etc. And that's all well and fine BUT the moment a women appears to actually enjoy sex? (ironically)It's refereed to as pornography and deemed inappropriate. Women can't have sex with the focus being on the's man's happiness or enjoyment...It just cannot be demonstrated. But if she's getting ****d for "artistic integrity" them it's applauded for the director's choice of a "unique and daring vision"

Quick question: How many movies can you recall where a female character has been ****d? Ok now how many can you think of where a female character receives oral sex...and lesbian movies DON'T count. Isn't that kinda messed up?

See guiz? Murder and sexual assault is cool, but licking vagina is DISGUSTING!

IMO reasons like this contribute to so many women to this day possessing no clue at all in how to handle sex. If you enjoy it, you're a dirty slutty whore nymphomaniac, if you're particular and have standards...then you're a stupid bitchy tease. That's it...there's no gray zone, no room for subjectivity and it's SO...stifling. If you're a woman you're there to get the man off, that's it. Then the show is over. And it's that form of thinking that permeates our entire culture. Not just entertainment. You're a pretty, little tool for his pleasure...according to various form of the medium, anyway....with little room for aspirations for more.

There's nothing for me to add beside a long-winded, circling commentary as always. The lovely Ms. Wood says it PERFECTLY. WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO ENJOY SEX...WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO BE CATERED TO DURING SEX. WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE CONTROL AND GET WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF SEX...Jesus, what a rotten, novel concept. **** is ok, sucking cock is ok, but cunnilingus?! CENSOR IT NAO!!!
So why do I care? I'm gay...none of this has any direct standing one me, right? It totally does. Even though some people like to refer to lesbians as their sexuality and nothing else, the perception and overall awareness of sex and how it pertains to women affects ALL women, regardless of any criteria you want to conjure up. I just wish more women knew they didn't have to be breathing sex dolls that live to please and expect no compensation. If I had a heart, that would totally break it.

Good day.

I remember when Coming Home was released there was a a lot of hooplah over the scene with Jon Voight giving Jane Fonda oral. He had long hair, and I was all a flutter over him, I was jealous. Keep in mind I was around 10 or 11 years old at the time.

Several years later, Drew Barrymore was Poison Ivy and the father figure (?) Tom Skerrit (spelled?) appeared to give her oral through her panties, his wife laying out cold on the bed next to them.

I just watched The Kids are Alright, and the scene with Julianna giving Annette oral (while watching gay male porn) was sad and funny at the same time.

honorable Mention; Viggo Mortensen in Blue Valentine, even if her panties were on and it ended up being turned into 69.

to drchuck : They control the airwaves...what people see and what they don't. Especially the damn hypocrites in America that think decapitations are less offensive than eating pussy. All women see in terms of sex seems to be catering to others and they wonder why women are so sexually frustrated.

The Cooler, with Monica Bello and William H Macy. I name it (a) because it's one of the very few, and (b) because in a featurette, Ms Bello specifically mentions the film's first pass was given an NC-17 because during an oral sex scene, her pubic hair was visible, and I wish I could quote her bewilderment.

... Or maybe it wasn't a featurette, but in *This Film Is Not Yet Rated. Regardless: bullshit.

Well yeah, if a man gets "around" a lot, he's a stud and he's praised...If a women sleeps around, then she's a slut, and either she's dirty or something is wrong with her. Seems like the culture everywhere....

"don't look now" from 1973, "in the cut" from 2003, "monster's ball" from 2001, and "basic instinct" from 1992 are the only movies i've seen featuring a heterosexual cunnilingus scene that come to mind. i could probably name 40 or 50 movies with rape scenes and even more with scenes of non-sexual violence against women. as usual, you get it exactly right. as long as the mpaa remains the hot mess it is (see the movie "this film is not yet rated") i doubt we're going to see much changing.
