Transcendent Culture

Ok, so apparently there is no **** culture. It's just a rather trite figment conjured up by women with a grudge. (Probably scorned fat women who can't get a date, or hairy lesbians that men don't want, anyway, mirite?) Well it's said here much better than I could ever manage to relay..

"For those who don’t know, **** culture is an environment in which **** is highly prevalent, normalized and excused by the society’s media, popular culture, and political figures. **** culture is perpetuated through the use of misogynistic language, the objectification or women’s bodies, and the glamorization of sexual v******e, which creates a social culture that disregards women’s rights and their safety. Some examples include victim blaming (“She asked for it!”), tolerance of sexual harassment, **** jokes, inflating the statistics of false **** reports, trivializing sexual assaults, and teaching young girls “not to get ****d” instead of teaching young men not to ****.

Sound familiar? That’s because we do, in fact, live in a **** culture but, for some reason, we just can’t seem to get some people to believe it."

See, this is wrong. We ALL know when a woman is sexually assaulted it's HER fault. I mean who is she to entice men with revealing or form-fitting clothing? How can women be so callous and selfish? Stop enticing men and alter YOUR attire based on THEIR feelings. Do the right thing. It's not fair for them to see you in such a ways and not have you for themselves. How are you going to deprive them of their inherit right? DAMN YOU! Get on your knees and show your appreciation!

Who are you to walk around at night all alone, or tell a man no? It's YOUR fault. You're antagonizing him by declining or being alone where your current owner can't set the record straight and show the man in question who you belong to....it's not fair to their disposition. You can't blame them for taking advantage of your own personal feelings...God, women just don't understand. I mean **** is no big thing. It's not a tragic, life-altering traumatic experience or a tolerated and ignored epidemic. Jokes should be made to make levity of it. It's totally cool. It's just ****. Women need to get over it and stop making such a big deal out of what is REALLY a non-issue.

That's why the police and officials simply blame women. I mean THEY ask for it because of the reasons previously listen. They're the ones too ashamed or perhaps too embarrassed or they simply lack the faith in the system required to report any happenings because well...she probably just "imagined it" or "it didn't really happen". Maybe she was drunk after one too many drinks? Or she's just a "slut" anyway and "had it coming". Or she just has it out for men. Consider the feelings of the r****t. I mean I'm sure he didn't want to go through the trouble of forcibly assaulting this woman against her will, but the women leaves him no choice. Hey, stop saying no! The stats prove it..**** barely happens. It's not like most are never even reported, or most officer/officials don't care enough to report it, or it simply gets "lost along the way"...that NEVER happens. Besides with how lenient the judicial system is at prosecution and punishment, who cares? Breed repeat offenders. Pfft.

Think about it, does it make any sense to teach boys in school to respect women? No, just makes sure women know about condoms because we all know all women have STDs, and teach then about birth control because not getting pregnant is ONLY the woman's responsibility. Discussing **** and the treatment of wimmenz has NO place in school. It's not like boy are taught all thought their life from movies, TV, porn, friends, etc to treat women like shit....it's not the culture or anything.

"In the controversial TIME Magazine piece on March 20, author Caroline Kitchens argues that “**** is certainly a serious problem, (but) there’s no evidence that it’s considered a cultural norm… **** culture theory is doing little to help victims, but its power to poison the minds of young women and lead to hostile environments for innocent males is immense.”

Once again, we’re being told that the real victims of **** and **** culture are “innocent males” and that clearly, we’re all just making up this **** culture idea to get attention.

Hopefully, after you take a look at some of the millions of testimonials that were tweeted on in response, you’ll realize that **** culture is a real problem that does, in fact, exist, and that needs real attention."

See, this woman gets it. All the "**** culture" crap is randomly conjured rhetoric with no validity. **** is never minimized or anything of the sort. The fake **** simulations don't patronize the effect and diminish the tragedy of the millions of women who forcibly, unwillingly suffered the ACTUAL act.(If those damn women who ask for that crapped actually went through the deed, they'd be signing an alternative tune, I'm sure.) People have quite the penchant for wantonly using "got ****d" as slang or whatever only helps of course. No, let's pretend **** isn't a serious issue...let's just assume all this women have some spiteful agenda, and all the evidence to the contrary is moot. The REAL victim here is the men. It's not fair to them, at all. Imagine how bad they must feel when women happen to be cautious or overly receptive to men. Can you imagine how frustrating it must be to hear about women and their witchhunt? How are men going to convince women it's.."not all men". The real problem is proving THEIR innocence not prevention of the act from happening and being SO widespread and accepted or ignored, spreading awareness, educating or being proactive...NO..POOR MEN!

"**** culture is real, folks—and we live in it. If you want to change that culture, you’ve got to stop laughing at **** jokes, stop wondering if a victim is telling the truth or not, stop glorifying r****ts, and stop perpetuating popular culture that does. You have the power to end hundreds of nightmares, and all you have to do is say to the co-worker who makes **** jokes at the water cooler, “I don’t get it. Can you explain?” and watch them drown.

Because **** culture isn’t funny, and we don’t have to live in it."

In all seriousness...I do believe their is a **** culture. I do believe because of porn, movies, comedy, etc the culture and the matter itself is often belittled and made out to be much less significant than it really is in a myriad of way. And that's legitimately maddening...and sad because no one seems to give a damn.

Good day.

to alisabze : Yeah, instead in Iran women have acid thrown in their face because they don't want to be forced to marry, they're gang-raped in the street, or they're beat to death because they tried to go outside or turned on a computer.

As I'd mentioned before, the odds of being attacked by a shark are 1 in 11,000,000, but it's socially acceptable to fear sharks; the odds of a woman being sexually assaulted are 1 in 6, but fear (or even distrust) men, and you're labeled a hysterical misandrist. Yeah, that's not socially-ingrained R culture.

here's a link to a site that allows one to take several different tests which show underlying attitudes about race and gender issues. they are called implicit association tests and seem to be a useful tool to let one look at one's own attitudes about things. https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/

there's an essay in the current issue of "harper's" by rebecca solnit you might want to read. it's called "cassandra among the creeps" and it's subject is the silencing and marginalization of women. i think you would find it very much on point.

the statistics you cite above correspond closely to what women have told me over the years and i believe them. i find the "not all men" meme offensive because it infantalizes men and insults women. any man who thinks that saying "not all . . ." excuses them from responsibility is engaged in magical thinking. the idea that some set of words uncoupled from responsible and responsive actions can excuse men from the consequences of the culture they create and in which they exist is delusional. i can only speak for myself and my actions. the only people who know the substance of my character and my beliefs are the ones who know me personally because they are the ones who know my actions beyond my words. in this place, under these circumstances you can only judge my words in the context of the culture we inhabit which of necessity gives them little weight. despite that, i encourage you to keep on fighting for what is right because it is right and, regardless of whatever else that might divide us, we both know it is right.
