A few thoughts on community

Today, I intend for once to focus upon a positive aspect of this website, the sense of real community fostered amongst those of us who perceive it as more than a mere showcase for hardcore pornography.

I have encountered some truly fascinating people here on Xhamster, and engaged in many quite illuminating conversations on a variety of topics: not just pornography, but also art, literature and politics, all of which segue quite neatly into our common interest. And whilst it's true that the majority of us shield our full identity behind an artificial username, that anonymity does promote a greater sense of freedom in the expression of our opinions. To quote Oscar Wilde, "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."

Of course, every village has it idiots, and Xhamster has more than its fair share. However, I sense the wind of change is gathering momentum and the arrogant bullies who currently swagger about its electronic thoroughfares dispensing bigotry and vitriol in equal measures will soon discover their days are as numbered as those of the dinosaurs they so closely resemble. It is past time those residents who believe in mutual respect closed ranks and proclaimed the dawn of a new era.

to bigharv69 : Respect is the key, Shane. In my exterior life, I've often had to deal with people whose politics and beliefs are diametrically opposed to my own. The only way to form a concensus is for both sides to exhibit mutual respect.

I regret, Paul, all we can do is stand united against their antediluvian prejudices and hope their attitudes die of old age.

to mike0207 : It's the "interesting people" which make this site so special, Mike, and why I get so aggrieved when casual idiocy drives such individuals from our midst.

to DanielPortenio : That's sweet, Daniel. There wasn't a day my wife and I didn't state our love for each other at least once. Over 20+ years, it was easily more than 20,000 times -- and it was true on every occasion.

I share your views, Steve, and want to mention a side effect this community has on me:
The habit of instantaneously utter nice words when I see cute women here has flooded over my wife...when every day I awake her with some fruit, some of the things I write in this site end in her ear.

I respect your thoughts! I myself have been thinking the same thing. A community are the exact words I feel describe a growing number of us. What better place to come, where our true identities are secrete; However, our thoughts, desire and fantasies are very real. Real to share with the people that we've come to know as friends and a counterpart to bounce ideas off of. I myself have had some people here that have opened up to me about topics that they themselves had a desire for but perhaps they felt were not normal. What is normal? Who am I to judge? What do you think of......? What are you feelings about....... As long as you hold the respect of the other individual(s) and you are not hurting anyone. It's normall! At least to me. As a growing community, we should embrace everybody's individuality and idealoligy and welcome them. No one should be alone. Mike you and I just met. I'm looking forward to knowing more about you. Steve, you and I have had some great conversations. I enjoy that and appreciate our friendship. I hope others will find their way here to the community and treat the community with respect. Like you said, there are a lot of idiots out there. Especially on this site. But there are few of us that appreciate something like this. You're on to something here Steve. I'm behind you all the way! ...... No pun intended! LOL

Nice thoughts Steve. When I first entered Xhamster I used to talk about sex a lot but that became boring pretty soon. And the fact that it didn't really lead to friendship made me change course.
As in real life it's better to start chats with normal topics that will lead to common interests and friendship. Further I find flirting and teasing more fun than talking about plain sex.

And yes,I also found some interesting people here too that keep me hanging on to Xhamster.
