Transitions

Sometimes growth takes more time than you planned for it to. Doing things right is important too though. I finished a mural I have been putting off for years and got myself all princess pillowed up and slept like an angel last night. I'll be back to full batteries very very soon. I just couldn't focus on doing a good job at so many things at one time. Missed y'all, thank you for checking in on me. I am selfcaring so hard right now. Transitions

I know from my experience anyway I tend to be a perfectionist. It doesn't matter if I am painting or making items by hand or sewing. When I finish something to me it always has something missing or I see something that I am not pleased with. I have a few people who I have done art work or custom work for over the years grab pieces before I grab my rag with thinner to wipe off something and say nope its exactly what I wanted and paid me. Had one person who I did lettering and painting on a boat lock his shop door and say its perfect if I open the door your going to start wiping stuff off again I love it thank you. I usually hide things in my paintings and they are always something nuts or sometimes a little obscene haha what can I say I have a twisted sense of humor. As creative people we tend to get a little moody. We get sidetracked or distracted. Sometimes our hearts are not into something that we are doing and we are just going through the motions making things so we can make enough to get bills paid which can be good or it can be a sign that its time to change it up a bit before you start to get burned out. I remember before having the honor of being an apprentice under the guidance of a very talented painter this painter asked me why would you want to its the old way nobody wants these days ? I told him I want to learn. He asked if I was insane ? I laughed and said I don't think so. He laughed and said lets get started tomorrow. First day he told me your going to learn your crazy, no sane person does this, if you are in it for money you won't find it, solvents along with lead will fry your nerves, if you drink your going to drink more, smoke more, and your physical health is going decline mentally you will become hatter crazy don't say I didn't warn you. Working with this artist he taught me a lot more than painting. After a few years he asked me learning anything ? I jokingly said I am learning how not to paint. He said excellent. One day we finished a mural he stopped and said thank you for outgrowing me it is the ultimate compliment you have completed part of your journey thank you for making me a part of it. I stood there kinda stunned. He said this is only the beginning. Remember it will only keep getting interesting as long as you keep it interesting for only your self. However share your craft with others and more will be revealed. He was correct and I sure miss that crazy old beatnik. So thank you again for reading my rambling, and I always enjoy your comments.

to st_john_green : That is very kind of you! I have had a weird few weeks and it's always nice to know that the things I'm making are appreciated it definitely motivates me to get back in my game and make some more things soon.

I an so happy to hear that you finished a mural you have been putting off that is awesome news. Growing and life its a never ending painting in my opinion we just keep working on it the best we can a day at a time. Life gets completely and it just inspires me to work harder and achieve things in life as I grow into a better person. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here you inspire people and I really like that. Take care and I am excited to hear more about your mural or whatever else you are working on.
