    Under BRITISH Law:
    You CANNOT consent to any form of physical v******e.
    Any form of assault is a crime and you cannot consent to the commission of a crime - legal impossibility.
    This means a mild/light spanking is a Criminal offence . . . and you've taped it?

    So why do I tell you . . . I mean it's not as though you've both have had a load of fun and some great orgasms and you then run off to Plod and tell them you've had great sex. Not very likely.
    But a vengeful ex (of any gender), wanting revenge . . . and conning you back into bed . . . or sharing the tape/cd with The Old Bill . . ..

    PS - Yeah you got there, technically tattooing is a crime in Great Britain (despite the fact tattooists have to pay local government for licences - thereby making your local Council an accomplice I suppose . . . hmmmmmmm.)

In the black community, "woke" had a context from decades ago about just being generally aware of your history, your status in society (which was usually suspect in our country), and the presence of law enforcement officers who may or may not have the protection of your life and liberty at heart. In more modern times, "woke" may have started out on the progressive end of the spectrum as holding con*scious*ness of our country's less than stellar history regarding race relations and social justice issues in general. . . sort of an urban hip version of "political correctness." It has been taken up by "conservatives" in our country (who I suspect Edmund Burke would not recognize as such. . . ) to represent anything with which they disagree, especially if critical of their privileged place in society, and especially in terms of the "culture war" issues around race, environmentalism, LGBTQ etc. issues, and social justice in general. For them, it actually has less to do with any actual policy stance of philosophy, and has to do with anything by which they can "own the Libs."

    I suspect there are those on this comment thread who might add to what I have listed. . . or disagree like fuck with it. But that's the beauty of this forum.

    ke 666Rhino : Hmmmm. . . kinda makes me wonder about surgical procedures. But far be it from me to point at any peculiarities of UK jurisprudence, especially given some of the anti "woke" and anti LGBTQ+ legislation oozing out of the less enlightened states in our imperfect union. . .

    ke SeaStories1983 : I LOVE the question of Tattooing.  Any tattoo is - of course - an Assault, that there is Consent doesn't matter, both tattooer and tattooist are both guilty of the commission of a crime . . ..  The REALLY interesting point (and I'll admit with some embarrassment that it has never occurred to me) is that because the tattooist MUST be licenced by local government . . . does that make the licencing body (local government) equally guilty?   Hmmmmmmm . . .  (and this is a porn site)

    Tattooing is a crime? Really? Not that I am heavily into tattoos, but that really is a consensual procedure. 

    I wonder what the laws are here Stateside about the rest of your essay. . . alas, probably varies across fifty states and the odd territory or possession or two.
