'Whipping post' A classic Allman Brother

[Intro]

Am Am (on 2nd fret) A (on 5th fret) Am (on 2nd fret) Am

[Verse]

I've been run down, and I've been lied to,

And I don't know why I let that mean woman make me a fool

She took all my money, wrecked my new car

Now she's with one of my good time buddies

Drinkin' in some cross town bar

[Chorus]

Bm7 D7 E7
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Am D C
Like I've been tied to the whippin' post
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
C N.C.
Good lord, I feel like I'm dying

[Verse]

My friends tell me that I've been such a fool,

And I have to stand by and take it, baby, all for loving you.

Drown myself in sorrow and I look at what you've done,

But nothing seems to change, the bad times stay the same

And I can't go on

[Chorus]

Bm7 D7 E7
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Am D C
Like I've been tied to the whippin' post
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
C N.C.
Good lord, I feel like I'm dying

Bm7 D7 E7
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Am D C
Like I've been tied to the whippin' post
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
Am D C
Tied to the whippin' post,
C N.C.
Good lord, I feel like I'm dying

To Laserhands. Hahaha. Unfortunately for most of them wherever their destination was, they've already arrived. Duane was such a good guitar player. Died way too soon. Ever hears Derek Trucks play, nephew of Butch Trucks. Closest thing to Duane I've heard.

The sad part is that you know you're old when all the musicians you like best are dead.

"I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too." Grampa Simpson

This was recorded at Fillmore East. These guys were maniacs live, playing 4 to 6 hours a show. I played a lot of their music in clubs. Ain't but one way out baby....
