I find that the baby oil gel is probably about the slipperiest and most comfortable thing to use, its much more slippery than any water based lube and it is safe for anal, i would reccomend you give yourself a good cleaning as well, maybe start with a smaller toy or beads. It makes it much easier to get stuff in when you can push without having to worry about anything coming out.
