I think old comedy shows are more like a broadcast directly from a tomb: not so much the fact that all of the actors are probably dead, but the laugh track is the laughter of long-departed souls forced to laugh at something they probably never saw. And laughing and laughing...that makes me think of how I described the voice of Ian Curtis from Joy Division: "kind of a sepulchral moan..".particularly the live version of "Ceremony" where he is saying "Watching forever..." over and over. Well you certainly are Mister Mopeypants!
