I Hate #21 - Politicians
If more people somehow saw these little rants of mine I might just ask for your own reasons to hate politicians and post those. Because who doesn't hate politicians? They lie, they change their minds for mysterious reasons, they backroom deal, they cut funds for stupid reasons but charge the tax payers for their limos and expensive meals and trips, they are out of touch because they were born with a silver spoon in their mouths or they just don't care, etc... and many just feel obliged to be scum because, well, why not.
You'd think these scumbags would carry themselves at a higher level than the average person but that's so untrue it's a hilarious idea. The cliche of the dishonest politician isn't a myth, it's a time-honored fact. Also many of these people are so power hungry it isn't long before the hypocrisy and BS overwhelms them. I can't listen to their BS anymore, when they show up on the news I mute them. They're worse for double talk than lawyers.
Do I even need to state examples? My fingers would fall off if i tried.
When I was in my 20's I actually did take part in a new Canadian political party and tried to help it grow but it fell apart due to the infighting, stupidity and yes hypocrisy. That just jaded me to the whole process.
LOL, one time one of our local guys who wanted more leadership had us over to his house for a weekly meeting. Some strangers were there and looking confused until just after the meeting began, then one stood up and said "What? this isn't for the Liberal Party?" The guy who held the meeting looked embarrassed and rushed them out and tried to play it down... This asshat who was trying to go for the leadership of the National Party (which itself didn't last long) was holding Liberal Party meetings in the same place and trying to rise with them too. Needless to say we kicked the douchebag to the curb.
Yes, our society needs politicians. And good ones (probably) exist. It isn't easy to make fair laws and rules and isn't a job I would want. But I wish there was less corruption and small minded-ness among those in the jobs. I do hate lots about it but I still vote.
