Meeting New People
My first post. I didn't think I would make one, but I decided after reading so many and seeing how people comment on them, especially when people post with questions they have. I hope this doesn't get too wordy or too detailed causing people to lose interest. I'll try to avoid that but it's a habit of mine to be detailed.
My first post will be a question I've wondered for some time now, and have decided to ask and see what people say. For those of who who live in Philly or are familiar with it, where are the best places to go to meet new people, specifically around my age? Growing up I did not care to go out. I always kept myself in my room. As I get older I have desired to go out and meet new and interesting people. I didn't meet anyone in college so now I really would like to go out and explore. Unfortunately I'm not into the bar and club scene. My hobbies are listed on my profile so you'll know what I'm into. I don't want to meet people only for sex and relationships, but I'm not against it.
I'm up for meeting just about anyone, especially those who share my interests. There are some problems I have and hope to get over. I have a difficult time being social. I'm a very shy person and am not good when it comes to strangers. Getting close to people has always been a problem for me. I stopped using social media for personal reasons. Normally when people go out they go out with friends. I see some bumps along the way if I bring some of mine. One friend is way more antisocial than me, another is way too social to the point I probably wouldn't get a word in, and another is too headstrong and hyper at times when socializing.
A second part of the question, I guess, would be where I could go by myself where I won't feel awkward about being there alone? I am considering the bar scene despite the fact that I don't drink. I am currently going through some personal hardships right now so a part of me discouraged from going out and meeting new faces. I can't really think of what else to say right now, so I'll stop here. I hope this wasn't too long. I will appreciate and and all comments. You can comment down below for other people to see, or you can send me a message. Whatever makes you most comfortable. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope to hear some feedback.

Make yourself go out and do things when you really just want to stay home and hide from the world. Try your best to just have a good time. If you're relaxed and confident (or even just comfortable with who you are so you arnt weird and trying to hide things) people will be more attracted to you. I don't mean for sex, though I suppose there is always a chance, but just in general. Don't be afraid not to say anything either. Often, silence is more wise than words.
As long as youre in your comfort zone, you can't really grow and change. If you're fine with where you're at in life...then things are fine. But if you want change, you have to make it.
