Basic essentials = Persona
Basic communication for a person is simple, it can be from
1) eye contact (guy checking out a girl at a bus stand)
2) body language (girl shrugging off the look the guy is giving her)
3) verbal (guy giving girl a comment about how she look)
4) physical (girl slapping the guy and pouring coffee down his pants)
But in the internet, contact usually comes in two forms
1) text
2) cams
It is more complex than it seems. One side would have no idea if the other person is as real as her "persona" if it is by text or word profile.
Example: John tries to chat to a girl by the name of "SexyCarlyHot33"
He would be out on a wing and prayer wheather the person hes talking to is really a girl named Carly, or if shes 33, or if shes really sexy and on fire (hot)
John should realize that "SexyCarly" is a persona. Something that the other user thinks she/he should be created by God as, but given a totally different package in real life.
Contact in the internet is more dodgy than the real world is. It can get hillariously funny, or outrageously horrific, or worse, both.
Example:
John might die of a heart attack when he finds out "Carly" is actually "Tim" 63, grandfather of 11, with a tattoo of a butterfly on his butt.
It is a gamble for the newly internet guy or girl or whatever it is.
Persona is a confidence tool, made by it's user as a social interaction medium. It is the personification of it's user, an avatar with it's own attitude, look and thoughts.
Example:
A barely clad sexy warrior princess that posts beautiful half naked maidens with a huge collection of lesbian porn and sexy fantasy stories
Or
A handsome superbly muscled man that posts pictures of unicorns and buttercups to show his sensitive side with interest in movies like 'sleepless in Seattle' or other girly movies
That my friends, is a well seasoned Persona user. It can be the real deal though, like Tom Hanks in 'You got Mail' but mostly its the guy with the tatoo on his head in 'The Hangover'
It is an exciting time to explore this new form (relatively new) of medium, where thoughts alone attract others, and personalities are known first before physical meetings ever takes place.
But it can be frustrating for someone looking for a specific person in mind. A person can become jaded and bitter after a bad experince with a persona.
Example:
John shrugging off "Mary" who is in fact a real, 33yr old lady with beautiful soul after his experience with the hot "Carly".
Love them or hate them, Personas are here to stay. You might be a persona user, or already own several unicorn posting accounts, it can be fun for you, it might not to those you lie to.
Be responsible. Behind the words and pictures are other people.

its an outlet for them to explore their 'darker side' whatever that may be and in whatever form they think suits them.
so sometimes they may come as a female or somthing but on the surface it seems kinda like they want more attention or crave something that they reality does not provide for them but on other hand it can be something they want to explore. some ppl just abuse it and are arseholes.

Perhaps social networks should have an oscar night, to award the best actors = ha love this idea, but often the publicity would ruin the it...
excuse me nazru, seems the site has problems with
PMs and your locked, so If I need to write a comment x you, I'll check this blog!
I'm planning to defriend people, is the reason
because I avoid to add new friends in my "box".
Because I'm a thief and I use PMs to sell
my stolen jewels.
Impossible?
Anyway, xham is a big role game, just we have to
remember a character needs an actor and the actor
is a true sentient.
Despite his role.
Besides, the topic about Personas is well covered in this very good yellow book anyway: "Social Networking, For Dummies".
I just simplify the contents into a small blog. Check it for yourselves, except you have to pay and some author will call you a dummy. I give what i know for free. Go figure.
I cheated everyone!
I sent a photo of my cousin!
Ah,Ah!
I'm joking!
Is a friend of mine!
