Basic essentials = fakes
Very touchy subject, and very complex,
The purpose of the most to be in the internet is to get away from
Reality. When they are in the network, they can be anyone that they
Wished they were, an ideal form of being they find appealing.
This is called a "Persona"
With this persona, they feel more comfortable interacting with others,
They have confidence, and feel better than their awkward selves.
It is a moral dillema, some dont mind talking to the person provided
That no deception is involved. This is called "Role Play".
Others feel it is lying, and dishonest.
There are many boundaries that defines fakes,
1) lying for attention
2) role playing as someone or something else
(example: a handsome vampire, a sexy catwoman, etc)
3) personal privacy and self intrest
4) trolling ( trolls usually have fake accounts)
5) flytraps
6) stalking
And many others
The most common ones are the first:
LYING FOR ATTENTION
Also known as attention whores, they feel a rush
By pretending to be someone else, and for that
"persona" to have his or her own friends, contacts
And even lovers. The most commonly encountered,
They come in many forms
1) men pretending to be women or vice versa
2) couples
3) race and body changed to ideallically suit their taste
To fool women (usually) to befriend them
4) speaking in different languages using a translator
5) posting pictures/ videos of others as himself
Etc
These are the kind that causes the most problems when
Their deceit is uncovered, and the resulting fallout
From such confrontations will render most cyber relationships apart
(eg: friends picking sides to defend one or the other)
This are the real victims of fakes. The ones that become
Their aquaintances.
