Models, Get More Tips, A Viewer's Perspectiv
I am sure some of the pro models will be like "yeah we already knew that" but there are a lot of models out there that are new and lost when it comes to the cams and tips. Like the title says "a viewer's perspective", take what you like from this blog and leave the rest. If any models or viewers have suggestions please leave them in the comment section I'm sure other models would be glad to hear them.
First and foremost it is important for all models to follow xHamster's rules while on cam. xHamster will ban models that do not follow all rules while on cam. The list of rules are at the bottom of this page along with them being listed before you start broadcasting. PLEASE read all of them and if you don't understand them ask me or someone that knows them about the ones you don't understand.
One of the biggest things to getting more tips is to communicate and interact with your viewers, have fun while you're on. Yes a lot of them want to just see you naked but for some viewers the communication is just as important. By having fun and communicating with the viewers you will build a fan base. A fan base is a group viewers that will flock to your room whenever you come on cam.
xHamster rules say that you must have a working mic. Verbally is the best way so having a working mic is very important and will save you time. If you don't have a mic then you have to do a lot of typing, hand gestures, etc... to show that you are real and live on cam (xHamster will give you a little time to get a working mic before closing your cam). If you don't have a working mic and don't respond to viewers' requests then they will report you for being a video and your show will be shut down.
There are a lot of great viewers that are very nice to the models but some viewers are trolls and can be very mean to the models that they don't like so it is also important to keep control of the chat in your room. This means when you see a viewer starting to say mean things either to you or to other viewers warn them and if they keep doing it ban them. It is YOUR room and YOUR rules (this doesn't mean that you can have your cam turned off or you be off cam until you get a certain amount of tips, that is against the rules, a model must be on cam at all times while their cam is turned on) remember that, if viewers don't like your rules then they can leave. Viewers owe it to the models to show respect for sharing themselves on xHamster. If you get a troll in your room warn them then ban them if they keep being mean. Trolls like to piss people off so to beat them at their own game: just ignore, warn and ban, the more they piss you off the happier they are so don't give them that. If they piss you off just ban them, the more time you spend on them the less time you are not spending with the good viewers.
A strong recommendation would be to block "guests" from chat. You can do that here along with setting who can see your show: http://xhamster.com/edit_cam.php You can let the "guests" watch your show if you want because that will give you more views towards the contests. The reason I recommend you block "guests" is because this is where a lot of the trolls come in to chat and start being mean. There are a lot of good "guests" but unfortunately the trolls ruin it for them. You can ban regular individual viewers from chat by hitting the ban button next to their comment in chat but you can't ban individual "guests".
Set a topic for your room and include what your goal is for tips. This lets the viewers know what you want from them in exchange for what you are willing to do. If you only want to chat then make that your topic, you want your viewers to know what to expect from you and they should show you respect for that. If your show includes nudity, give little flashes to get the tips started. It might take a few flashes but they will pay off. If you just sit there not doing anything except make a comment every now and then the viewers will get bored and leave without tipping. If you are logged in to do a show you can not request tips to turn your cam on or request tips to come in to the cam's view, this is against xHamster rules and you will get banned for it because when you are logged in to do a show you are to be on cam as long as you have your cam on.
Be who you want to be, it's your room and you should feel comfortable in it. If you want to be a flirt, be a flirt. If you want to be intellectual then be that way. ALWAYS remember it is your room, if the viewers don't like it they can leave. This should be as enjoyable to you as it is for the viewers so have fun.
When you set your topic and let viewers know what you will do for a certain amount of tokens it is important to do what you said you will do when you get them. If you don't pay attention to the amount of tokens you are getting when viewers hit your goal they will be upset and stop tipping you for not doing what you said you'd do. Some of the viewers will even tell their friends that you don't do what you say you'll do and then they won't tip either.
Make a good intro pic, that is the picture of you that is on the main page that viewers see when choosing a room to go into. You don't have to have your face in it but try to look interesting. You want your intro pic look like something the viewers will be curious about and want to see more of. Having a black intro pic just gets viewers to peek in your room then leave, you want them to come in and stay.
Gold viewers are the ones that have tipped, it's good to say "Hi" to them but don't just focus on them. You want to let all the viewers know that you are listening to them. Remember that even if a viewer isn't gold that doesn't mean that they can't buy tokens. At the same time don't let a non-gold viewer trick you and say that they will give you tips after you do what they ask, ask them to tip you some tokens before you do what they ask.
If you start getting tokens react to them, if there are more gold viewers in the room and you react to the first tip you get the other gold members will usually start tipping also. Some of the gold members have fun tipping and try to out do each other. For instance: gold viewer "A" will tip 2 tokens, gold member "B" will tip 4 tokens then gold member "A" tips 6 more tokens and so on...
